Tax guide

Qatar · Tax guide

Employment salary and taxable business income have different treatment. Salary exemption does not make every business activity tax-free.

Personal income tax

GTA states that individual salaries and wages are not subject to income tax. This statement is not an estimate of pension contributions or other contractual payroll deductions.

Filing & deadlines

Dhareeba is the official registration, filing and payment system. Taxable businesses generally file within four months after the tax year ends; check applicable extensions and exemptions.

Business and scope

The ordinary income-tax rate is 10% of taxable income, with ownership exemptions and special-sector rules. Do not apply a blanket 10% to all revenue or every entity.

Bonus and other non-contributory allowances are excluded. Employer contributions are displayed separately and never subtracted from net pay. Excludes grandfathered contribution salaries above QAR 100,000, in-kind housing, pensioners, military schemes, other GCC nationality schemes, private pension deductions and termination settlements. Non-GCC expatriates have no GRSIA payroll deduction; their employer gratuity is not an employee contribution.
